Skip the introduction, on to the code page!

HTML

HTML, that's the code your browser uses to read how a web page should look. You can use codes in that language to pimp your page and to modify your bookshelf to your own taste.

How does it work?
You type some extra characters in your own profile and suddenly your letters are green. Or italic. Or bigger. Or, if you wish, all that together.

Those are just a few possibilities. Others include making links and placing pictures or photos. Here is a manual for a couple of tricks.

Where can I use this?
The most obvious place to apply this is your bookshelf. Some of it may also be used in journal entries. In the fora no HTML is allowed; if you use code there it disappears automagically.

How to apply?
It's best to make your draft in notepad/simpletext on your computer. When you're done, you copy this in the website (by using copy/paste).

How to get in on my bookshelf?
First log in, at the top right of the Bookcrossing website. Then proceed to my bookshelf, for instance by clicking your screen name (top right). On your own page click (above the picture if you have one) edit my profile.
Stroll down to the big box for your extended information. Copy your code from notepad/simpletext, paste it into the website. Click submit changes. Done!

On to the codes... Ready? Steady? Click!
